Rabbi Sarah Bassin


Sarah Bassin, a native of Overland Park, Kansas graduated summa cum laude with a BA in religion and history from Lafayette College.  While her interest in interfaith relations began through facilitating Hillel’s interfaith programming, a fellowship through the American Jewish Committee provided her first professional encounter with dialogue and peace work ocusing specifically on the Catholic community.  After graduation, Sarah worked at Princeton University’s Hillel before entering the rabbinic program at Hebrew Union College.  During the program’s year in Israel, Sarah became both a participant and a facilitator for the Encounters  program, helping future Jewish leaders better understand Palestinians living in Bethlehem and Hebron.  Currently, Sarah is in her third year at HUC Los Angeles interning with the Board of Rabbis of Southern California.
